Tilt-Free Delivery Matters

The Storage Box was the first company in the region to offer tilt-free transportation for containers. Tilt-free transportation, paired with exceptional customer service, catapulted us to become the largest family-owned container provider and #1 in Ontario, in a short period of time.

Tilt-Free changed moving and storage in Southwestern Ontario.

Always Driveway-Smart

Our Box Lift trucks are safe for ALL driveways, whether concrete, stamped concrete, exposed aggregate concrete, asphalt, interlock brick or stone.

New or old, driveway asphalt or concrete is very high strength that can hold 4,000lbs per square inch or more! Simply put, our truck and boxes are harmless to your driveway surface. Every Box we deliver is placed gently, but for our customer's peace-of-mind, we add a wood board under each corner.

Introducing...

The Box Lift is our patented and proprietary delivery system. The safest and most advanced tilt-free system there is and has minimal space requirements. All our trucks are outfitted with The Box Lift, with the exception of one!

  • No Tilting
  • No Dragging
  • No Dropping
  • No Bottoming Out
  • No Blind Spots
  • No Tipping Hazards

It lifts containers similarly to how a forklift would, but with cables, and with minimal contact on the container!

After years of using and testing the limited number of tilt-free delivery systems available, we tried the system previously known as the Horizontal Lift. The strength, capabilities, safety and efficiencies of this system were instantly evident. The Storage Box worked closely with Horizontal Lift Co. to improve the system to its current iteration. After years of being Horizontal Lift Co. #1 customer, The Storage Box acquired the patented system and renamed it The Box Lift!

and our other system...
The Mule

The Storage Box also offers delivery by our Mule truck. This robotic system lifts like a wheelbarrow, where one end has fixed wheels and the other side has a robotic system that lifts and drives. This system offers capabilities in specific situations, but the process is much slower, is hazardous and has many limitations.

The Storage Box has phased our Mules with the exception of one we keep in our delivery fleet. We typically use this system to: deliver 40' containers, or to construction or industrial sites, and transfer Boxes between our various locations in Ontario.

Our Mule trailer also has air-ride suspension like our Box Lifts, so your contents still get a safe and smooth ride if the Mule is delivering. This feature is not found on any Mule trailers under 40' long because they're typically towed by pickup trucks not capable of supporting an air suspension system.

Did you know: The Storage Box was the first ever to have a Mule trailer specifically developed and to move 40' containers and multiple smaller containers?

When to Be Cautious

If you have an asphalt driveway, we highly recommend using a Storage Box - avoid using a Shipping Box or shipping container. Although asphalt is strong enough to support a truck driving on it, a loaded shipping container that is sitting in one spot for days, weeks or months will sink into and make indentations on asphalt.

It is also recommended to avoid deliveries with a Mule with an asphalt driveway. The nature of the Mule's drive system means it makes a lot of sharp, pivotal turns that leave tire marks or can chew into soft asphalt.

If you're considering a service other than ours, our professional opinion is to avoid:

  • services using tilt-bed (tow trucks)
  • containers on wheels
  • containers mounted to trailers
  • containers made of wood
