The idea of opening a new business was discussed amongst family in 2014. Providing storage container rentals, specifically shipping containers, was going to be a small part of a larger business. It was the discussion on how to deliver them to homes without damaging driveways and the delivery vehicles. That changed everything - we just didn't know it yet! The months to follow were filled with extensive research into the delivery and pickup systems being used and what's available.

The research revealed that homeowners and commercial industries severely lacked a portable storage provider to adequately, and professionally, service their needs in Ontario. Not a single company in the region was providing tilt-free delivery, and not a single company provided a premium container suitable for household furniture. We knew we could do it better in every way! That meant our whole business had to be providing container rentals - not as a part of another. From there, the vision was clear - build a company that will change moving and storage in the region and raise the bar across the industry.

In 2015, The Storage Box was born. We structured our business to look and feel like one of our large national and publicly-traded competitors, but with operational efficiency, professionalism, and personalized attention that is required to properly service the needs of a family or business. Our attention to detail and personalized service has quickly made us an industry leader and the largest privately-owned storage container provider in Ontario. 

We are focused on constantly raising the bar and evolving the core advantage that keep us ahead of our competition - our customer service. Our hiring process is extremely thorough, ensuring that our customers are always working with the most qualified person at every stage of their experience with us.

• We regularly get asked if we are a franchise
• We get asked even more if we would sell franchises (we do not...yet)
• Our expertise comes from previous family businesses that also focused heavily on customer service - making that business an industry leader across the region for over two decades until it was acquired! It also operated in Windsor, Leamington, Chatham, London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Hamilton! 
• The Storage Box name was not our first pick! The domain name (web address) for our chosen name was already taken. So it was changed based on the web addresses available.
